Why do I need to make a Will?

Every day 2,000 people die in this country and a large percentage of those people leave their families with the problems of INTESTACY – that is dying without having made a legally valid Will. In fact 70% of the UK’s population do not have a Will!

Under the rules of intestacy your Will is then written by the State and your possessions are distributed according to these rules.

As a result, many families can face immediate financial hardship and in some cases have to sell the family home.

It has never been easier to make a Will yet simply too easy to put it off until another day.

gone-but-never-forgotten

Because obituaries in local newspapers are very expensive and are often overlooked, this is an effective source for friends and family to interact (here and around the world).

There will never be a charge for our service, as the care and maintenance of this website is sponsored wholly by the National Federation of Funeral Directors.

Once a memorial or candle has been lit, you can share it with friends and family through various social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, everyone can join together and leave messages or light a candle in their memory.

You will find that creating a memorial, leaving a tribute, or lighting a candle is a very quick process and is easy to use, so why not get started and create or find a memorial.

Once I’ve Gone

once_ive_gone_logoMy sister took her own life following an 18 year battle with bi-polar disorder, and then three years later I lost my mum to lung cancer.

Neither of them spoke to me about what they wanted when they’d gone. I had to plan the funerals and chose something which I thought would be right for them… but it made me think that there must be some better way to deal with what had happened. On top of the grief, I was left completely alone; not knowing where to find the important things that had to be found, to do the important things that had to be done, with no way of knowing what they might have wanted to say to me if they’d been able to…

…So I started to think about how I could keep everything safe for my family for when it mattered. I started thinking about my life story, the things I really wanted to achieve, and the messages I would want to leave for those I love.

I wanted to build something I knew was secure but easy to use where people could celebrate their journey through life as well as leaving some peace of mind, a precious gift for once they’ve gone.

Here’s to the journey, here’s to life.
